Listen and Obey

When we were young children, we knew that we had to listen to our parents from a baby to a toddler, from a child to a young teenager, to a young adult to a full-grown adult, we out of knowing who they were took the advice, direction and correction of our parents.

It’s the same way with God, He as our Father, and we as His children, must listen to what He has to say to us for instruction, direction, and correction for our lives, when I was young my mom used to say whatever she had told me depending on the situation “it goes in one ear and out the other“ that means when you hear a thing that’s all you are doing is hearing it, but are you listening to what is being said and carrying it out? Sometimes we want to only carry out what we want to, what best fits our agenda. The God we serve requires us to Listen and Obey His commands to be in alignment with His will, and to carry out what He has spoken to us, if not, as much as we don’t want to admit it we are being rebellious against God, in

1 Samuel 15:23 it states, for rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. because you have rejected the Lord, He has rejected you as king, I touched on this to say, we must be aligned with what the Lord is speaking and doing in this season such a time as this.

God does however give us free will, and it is up to us if we are going to obey or not, He is such a gentleman that He is not going to force us, but it is up to you and I to make the right decision.

Are you obeying?

The Word of God tells us that Obedience is better than Sacrifice in 1 Samuel 15:22-23, both have a significant outcome in our faith towards God, but here Samuel is saying one outweighs the other

God expects us to be obedient to His Word, He expects us not only to be hearers but doers for the Kingdom of God. James 1:22, we must act on it, Sacrificing is when we give up our bodies as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to the Lord which is our reasonable service to Him which is in Romans 12:1, Giving your body as a sacrifice means dying to yourself daily, turning away from the things you once use to do, your behavior, etc. it is a form of worship to God, and with His help you can overcome it all, We all fall short of His glory, but we have the peace in knowing that with prayer, reading His Word, and having that connection with Jesus Christ all things are possible,

We praise Him because  He will never leave us or forsake us Deuteronomy 31:6

Finally He that began a good work in you will carry out until completion Philippians 1:6
